Multi-channel burner
2025-08-28
Multi-channel burners are mainly divided into single-fuel burners such as natural gas, coal gas, diesel, heavy oil, pulverized coal, etc., which are four-channel burners. Next are dual-fuel burners, gas-gas multi-channel burners, such as natural gas + coal gas, biomass gas + natural gas burners; gas + solid burners, such as pulverized coal + natural gas multi-channel burners, grain + natural gas multi-channel burners, etc.; gas + liquid multi-channel burners, such as natural gas + diesel multi-channel burners, and so on. The front-end dynamic pressure of multi-channel gas burners is about 40-60KPa.
(1) Four-Channel Burner
1. Overview
The four-channel gas burner is a newly developed type of combustion device. Our company uses advanced domestic and international technology to design and manufacture the GX series of high-efficiency energy-saving four-channel gas burners, specially developed for burning gas fuel on rotary kilns. Its unique structure and reasonable process parameters ensure thorough mixing of gas fuel with air, primary air with secondary air, strong thermal intensity, high combustion efficiency, and easy adjustment. It has been widely applied in nearly a thousand rotary kiln devices in cement kilns, quicklime kilns, chrome salt kilns, lithium carbonate, metallurgy, oxidized pellets, expanded sand, magnesium oxide, and chemical industries, with usage cases across the country and many countries and regions worldwide.
2. Working Principle:
As shown in the figure, gas fuel is sprayed outward from the gas pipeline at a certain diffusion angle in a swirling flow, imparting considerable momentum and angular momentum from the adjacent swirling air, spiraling forward at high speed and continuing radial diffusion, meeting the high-speed axial air jet. The insertion of the axial air jet further enhances the mixing of gas fuel with air (including surrounding secondary air) and can adjust the flame's divergence, allowing adjustment of flame length, thickness, and desired flame shape. The central air promotes combustion of a small amount of gas fuel and CO in the center, making combustion more complete and stabilizing the flow. Due to this combustion mechanism and the high speed of swirling and axial air, combustion speed and efficiency are ensured.

Figure 3-2 Multi-Channel Structure Diagram
As shown in the figure, it consists of pipelines, nozzles, ignition devices, metal bellows compensators, butterfly valves, pressure measuring instruments, and high-temperature resistant castable protective layers.
Pipelines: There are five channels from outside to inside, namely axial air duct, gas fuel duct, swirling air duct, central air duct, and ignition channel. Since the ignition channel is only used during ignition, it is conventionally called a four-channel.
Nozzle: Made of special materials, the outlet area of each duct can be adjusted to regulate the outlet air velocity, which is one of the key components to ensure flame shape and lifespan.
Ignition device: Located inside the central air duct, used for automatic ignition.
Metal bellows compensator: The main component connecting the pipelines, sealing, and adjusting the flame shape, allowing axial movement of connected pipelines.
Butterfly valve: Used to regulate air volume. This burner is equipped with manual butterfly valves to adjust the flow of central air, swirling air, inner axial air, and outer axial air. The ignition part has a manual butterfly valve to adjust the ignition gas flow.
Pressure measuring instruments: Indirectly display the outlet velocity of the burner air ports. Protective layer: The refractory castable layer, either cast by the manufacturer before shipment or cast on-site under special circumstances.

(2) Multi-Channel Dual-Fuel Mixed Combustion Burner
The multi-channel dual-gas mixed combustion burner is specially developed by our company for burning multiple gas fuels on rotary kilns. This burner retains the advantages and characteristics of multi-channel burners while increasing fuel adaptability, solving the problem that using a single fuel cannot meet production needs. It has been widely used in various cement lines, chemical, metallurgy, expanded sand, pellets, lime rotary kilns, and is highly praised by users.

This model burner is divided into adjustable and non-adjustable outlet cross-sectional area types. This section introduces the adjustable type. It consists of pipelines, nozzles, butterfly valves, pressure measuring instruments, and protective layers.
Pipelines: There are five channels from outside to inside, namely axial air duct, main gas duct, auxiliary gas duct, swirling air duct, and central air duct.
Nozzle: Made of special materials, it is one of the key components to ensure flame shape and lifespan.
Butterfly valve: Used to regulate air volume. This burner is equipped with three manual butterfly valves to adjust the flow of central air, swirling air, and axial air.
Pressure measuring instruments: Indirectly display the outlet velocity of each air port inside the burner and the gas pressure. Protective layer: The refractory castable layer, cast before shipment.
1. Working Principle
As shown in the figure, gas fuel is sprayed outward from the gas pipe at a certain diffusion angle in a swirling flow, imparting considerable momentum and angular momentum from the inner and outer adjacent swirling air, spiraling forward at high speed and continuing radial diffusion, meeting the high-speed axial air jet. Due to this combustion mechanism and the high speed of swirling and axial air, rapid and complete combustion is achieved.
(3) Multi-Channel Coal and Gas Mixed Combustion Burner
1. Overview
The multi-channel coal and gas co-firing burner is specially developed and designed by our company for burning pulverized coal (or rice husk, bran, bamboo powder, etc.) and gaseous fuel on rotary kilns. This burner not only ensures the advantages and characteristics of the five-channel burner but also increases fuel adaptability, solving the problem that using a single fuel cannot meet production demands. It has been applied in pelletizing, lightweight aggregate (sand), and lime rotary kilns in the chemical and metallurgical industries and is highly praised by users.
Under normal conditions, this burner co-fires pulverized coal and gaseous fuel, but it can also burn pulverized coal or gaseous fuel separately.

2. Structure
The structure of the multi-channel coal and gas co-firing burner is shown in the figure. It consists of pipelines, nozzles, metal bellows compensators, butterfly valves, pressure measuring instruments, and protective layers;
Pipelines: There are six layers from outside to inside, namely the outer axial flow air duct, gas channel, pulverized coal channel, swirl air duct, central air duct, and ignition gas pipeline.
Nozzle: Made of special materials, the outlet area of each pipeline can be adjusted to regulate the ejected air velocity. It is one of the key components to ensure flame shape and service life;
Metal bellows compensator: The main component connecting each pipeline, sealing, and adjusting the flame shape; pressure measuring instruments indirectly display the velocity and pressure of each air duct inside the burner;
Protective layer: The refractory cast layer, cast by the manufacturer before delivery;
Butterfly valves are installed at the inlets of axial flow air, swirl air, and central air, allowing individual adjustment of their air volume ratios. The adjustment nut can push the pipeline inward or pull it outward, adjusting the outlet area of each pipeline to regulate the ejected air velocity.
