Multi-channel burner
2025-09-17
Multi-channel burners are primarily categorized into single-fuel burners—such as those using natural gas, coal gas, diesel, heavy oil, or pulverized coal—as well as four-channel burners. Following this are dual-fuel or multi-fuel burners capable of combusting gases and oils simultaneously, for instance, natural gas. + Coal gas, biomass gas + Natural gas burner; gas + Solid combustors, such as pulverized coal + Natural gas multi-channel burner, grain + Natural gas multi-channel burners, and more; gases + Liquid multi-channel burners, such as natural gas + Diesel and other multi-channel burners, as well as the front-end dynamic pressure of multi-channel natural gas burners: 40-60KPa Right, the dynamic pressure of the gas burner depends on the actual operating conditions—aim for a slightly higher pressure whenever possible.
1. Four-Channel Burner
- Overview
Zhongwei GX The series of highly efficient, energy-saving four-channel burners was specifically developed and designed for firing gaseous fuels in rotary kilns. Its unique structure and optimally tailored process parameters ensure thorough mixing of the gaseous fuel with air, as well as primary and secondary air streams—resulting in high thermal intensity, exceptional combustion efficiency, and effortless adjustment. Currently, these burners have been widely adopted in nearly a thousand rotary kiln systems across industries such as cement production, lime kilns, chromate plants, lithium carbonate manufacturing, metallurgy, oxide pelletizing, ceramic aggregate production, magnesium oxide processing, and chemical manufacturing. Their successful applications span not only throughout China but also extend to numerous countries and regions around the globe.
2. How it works:
Gas fuel is ejected outward from the gas pipeline in a swirling motion at a specific diffusion angle, receiving significant momentum and angular momentum from the adjacent swirling air flow. This high-speed, spiraling jet continues to spread radially while meeting the rapidly discharged axial air stream. The penetration of the axial air stream further enhances the mixing of gas fuel with air—including the surrounding secondary air—and allows for dynamic adjustment of the flame’s divergence. By doing so, the flame’s length, thickness, and overall shape can be precisely tailored to meet the specific requirements of the calcination process. Meanwhile, the central air flow plays a crucial role in promoting the combustion of the small amount of gas fuel concentrated in the core region. CO Combustion is enhanced to ensure more complete burning and also serves to stabilize the airflow. Thanks to this combustion mechanism, combined with the high velocities of swirling and axial airflows, both the combustion rate and efficiency are effectively maintained.

As shown in the figure, it consists of pipelines, nozzles, an ignition device, a metal bellows compensator, a butterfly valve, pressure-measuring instruments, and a high-temperature-resistant castable protective layer, among other components.
Piping system: Composed of five channels from outer to inner, namely the axial-flow duct, gas-fuel duct, swirl duct, central duct, and ignition channel. Since the ignition channel is used only during ignition, it is conventionally referred to as the four-channel system.
Nozzle: Machined from special materials, the nozzle features adjustable cross-sectional areas at each pipe's outlet, allowing precise control of the ejected air velocity. It is one of the critical components that ensure both the shape and longevity of the flame.
Ignition device: Located within the central air passage, the high-energy igniter enables automatic ignition.
Metal bellows compensators are the primary components used to connect pipelines, seal joints, and adjust flame shapes, allowing the connected pipes to move axially.
Butterfly valve: Used to regulate airflow. This burner is equipped with a manual-adjustment butterfly valve, which controls the flow of center air, swirl air, inner axial air, and outer axial air individually. The ignition section features a manual butterfly valve specifically designed to adjust the flow rate of the pilot gas.
Pressure measurement instrument: Indirectly indicates the air outlet velocity inside the burner. Protective layer: Specifically, the refractory cast-in-place layer, which is either pre-cast by the manufacturer before shipment or, in special cases, poured on-site.

This model of burner is available in both adjustable and non-adjustable versions based on the cross-sectional area at each channel outlet. This section introduces the adjustable type, which consists of tubing, nozzles, a butterfly valve, pressure-measuring instruments, and a protective layer, among other components.
Piping: Consists of five layers, from outer to inner. A channel , namely the axial air duct, main gas duct, auxiliary gas duct, swirl air duct, and central air duct.
Nozzle: Machined from special materials, it ensures the shape of the flame and Use One of the key components of longevity.
Butterfly valve: Used to regulate airflow. This burner is equipped with 3 A manual butterfly valve is used to individually adjust the flow rates of center air, swirl air, and axial air.
Pressure measuring instrument: Indirectly displays the gas velocity at each burner nozzle and the pressure of the fuel gas.

1. Working principle:
Gas fuel is ejected outward from the gas nozzle in a swirling motion at a specific diffusion angle, propelled by the swirling air flows—both inner and outer—that impart significant momentum and angular momentum, enabling it to advance spirally at high velocity while continuing to spread radially until it meets the rapidly discharged axial-flow air jets. The introduction of these axial-flow jets further enhances the mixing of gas fuel with air (including the surrounding secondary air), allowing precise control over the flame’s dispersion characteristics. This enables users to adjust the flame’s length, thickness, and overall shape according to their specific needs. Meanwhile, the central air flow plays a crucial role in facilitating the combustion of the small amount of gas fuel concentrated in the core region. C O Combustion is enhanced for greater efficiency and also serves to stabilize the airflow. Thanks to this combustion mechanism, combined with the high velocities of swirling and axial airflows, rapid and complete combustion is achieved.

Nozzle: Manufactured from special materials, serving as the spray outlets for each pipeline. Cut The area is adjustable, allowing for regulation. Fuel The ejected air velocity is one of the key components that ensures both the flame shape and the lifespan of the device.
Metal bellows compensators are the primary components used to connect various pipelines, seal connections, and adjust the flame shape. Pressure measuring instruments indirectly display the velocity and pressure in each air duct within the burner.
Protective layer: also known as the fire-resistant cast layer, Factory before leaving the factory Pouring;
The inlets of the axial flow, swirl flow, and central flow are all equipped with butterfly valves, allowing individual adjustment of each airflow ratio. By turning the adjusting nuts, the ducts can be pressed inward or pulled outward, and by modifying the size of the spray areas on each duct, the velocity of the expelled air can be precisely controlled.
