The tundish heater is a widely used heating method in the smelting process of China's metallurgical enterprises today. Its key features include sealed-cap heating or semi-open-cap heating, the use of laminar-flow premixed low-pressure burners, and fuel combustion using gas or oil. The high-temperature flame is directly sprayed onto the bottom of the tundish, after which the hot flue gases flow back along the bottom of the tundish and then exit as turbulent flows, ensuring uniform temperature distribution within the tundish. Moreover, the tundish heater prevents local overheating that could otherwise lead to furnace combustion instability and cracking.
