Based on the purpose of the burner, it can be generally divided into two types: high-speed non-adjustable burners and adjustable burners. High-speed non-adjustable burners are mainly used for rapid heating of workpieces or materials. This type of burner does not have a secondary air passage, the excess air coefficient has a small range of variation, and the temperature adjustment range of the combustion gas is small.
High-speed adjustable burners are designed with secondary air, and the excess air coefficient has a large range of variation, usually between 1 and 50. The temperature adjustment range of the combustion gas is also large. They are mainly suitable for heat treatment furnaces, etc. Adjustable burners have a significant energy-saving effect.
High-speed burners can be divided into non-premixed and premixed types according to the mixing method of gas and air. The former is where natural gas and air are sent into the burner separately for mixing and combustion. The latter is where natural gas and air are premixed in a mixer and then enter the combustion chamber for combustion. The premixed high-speed burner has a small adjustment range, and it cannot be lower than a certain flow rate, otherwise, flashback will occur. The non-premixed type is not subject to this limitation and can be supplied with hot air. According to the structure of the combustion chamber, it can be divided into two types: one with a ceramic combustion chamber and one with a metal air-cooled combustion chamber.
