Zinc Oxide Rotary Kiln

2025-08-30

1. Working Principle

The working principle of the zinc oxide rotary kiln is to calcine zinc-containing materials at high temperature, causing zinc oxide to undergo reduction volatilization and oxidation reactions, ultimately producing zinc oxide. Core reaction process: Reduction volatilization: Inside the rotary kiln, zinc-containing materials (such as zinc oxide) mixed with fuel (such as coke) are reduced to metallic zinc vapor at high temperature. Oxidation reaction: The zinc vapor enters the cooling section with the gas flow and is re-oxidized by oxygen in the gas phase to zinc oxide. Flue gas collection: The oxidized zinc oxide enters the bag filter or settling chamber with the flue gas and is finally collected as the product. Calcination temperature 1200-1300 ℃, raw materials are Zinc-containing waste : Recycled zinc alloy scrap 、 Leaching residue from hydrometallurgical zinc extraction 、 Electric arc furnace dust 、‌ Hot-dip galvanizing ash slag 。

2. Burner Selection

  1. Gas burner

Fuel: natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, blast furnace gas, coke oven gas, light hydrocarbon gas, etc.;

  1. Oil burner

Fuel: diesel, methanol, heavy oil, alcohol-based fuels, etc.

Industry case: Currently, our company’s zinc oxide rotary kiln projects for Zhengfeng Renewable Resources in Cangzhou, Hebei and Shishou Jingzhou, Anhui 2023 Year 3 Month officially put into production and use.
