1. Working Principle
The pellet calcination rotary kiln is a rotary cylindrical device specialized for high-temperature calcination of pellets, pellet sand, and other materials. Its core function is to achieve dehydration, decarbonization whitening, and performance stabilization of raw materials through an internal heating calcination process ( 950℃ ~ 120 0℃ ) 。
Raw materials are added from the kiln tail (the high end of the rotary kiln). As the kiln body tilts and rotates slowly, the materials gradually move toward the kiln head. Fuel (such as gas, heavy oil, or pulverized coal) is injected from the kiln head through the rotary kiln burner, mixed with air for combustion, forming a high-temperature calcination zone with temperatures reaching 1200 ℃. The materials stay in the kiln for about 30-60 minutes to complete the calcination process. Exhaust gases are discharged through the exhaust fan and chimney.
Raw materials: Main raw material is bauxite: the primary component providing the basic chemical composition and strength required for pellets. Manganese powder: usually used as an additive to lower sintering temperature and improve the color and performance of pellets.
Auxiliary raw materials: coal gangue: industrial solid waste that can replace part of the bauxite. Fly ash: industrial by-product used to prepare specific types of pellet supports. Composite mineralizers: improve the microstructure of pellets, enhancing strength and density. Calcium-containing compounds (such as calcium hydroxide, calcium oxide): used to prepare special types of carbon-sequestering pellet supports. Flux agents: reduce sintering temperature, promote liquid phase formation, and improve pellet performance. Binders: enhance the adhesion of raw materials to ensure pellets maintain shape during firing.
