Rotary kiln for bauxite
1. Rotary kilns for bauxite are mainly used in refractory material plants for calcining high-alumina bauxite ore and in aluminum plants for calcining clinker and aluminum hydroxide; in the metallurgical industry, steel plants use them for magnetic roasting of iron ore; and in the oxidation roasting of chromium and nickel iron ore. They can be used with various fuels such as coal gas, pulverized coal, and fuel oil. After calcining in a rotary kiln burner, the calcined bauxite ore is processed and has important applications in aluminum smelting, precision casting, refractory fibers, cement, and chemicals.
2. Working principle
Materials enter the kiln from the kiln tail (the higher end of the cylinder). A rotary kiln burner burns fuel, producing a large amount of high-temperature flue gas to calcine the materials. Due to the inclination and slow rotation of the cylinder, the materials tumble in the circumferential direction and move axially, continuing their process to produce clinker, which then enters the cooler through the kiln head hood for cooling.
4. Rotary kiln burners use natural gas or coal gas as fuel. Dedicated natural gas rotary kiln burners, blast furnace gas rotary kiln burners, converter gas rotary kiln burners, or coke oven gas burners are designed, using single or multi-fuel co-firing methods to heat the materials.
5. Features of rotary kiln burner equipment: single-channel or multi-channel structure, design of various safety interlock functions, automatic ignition, fire extinguishing leakage alarm and immediate fuel cut-off function, interfacing with the central control room DCS to achieve remote control, using wireless or infrared temperature measurement to monitor the material and furnace, flue gas temperature in real time, online adjustment of fuel and combustion air mixing ratio to ensure complete combustion of the burner and achieve energy saving.
6. The burner can use oxygen-enriched, full-oxygen, or air-assisted combustion methods to achieve low-nitrogen energy-saving combustion.
