I. Zinc Oxide: Concept and Applications
Zinc oxide is an oxide of zinc, insoluble in water but soluble in acids and strong alkalis. It is a white solid, also known as zinc white. It can be obtained by burning zinc or roasting zinc blende (zinc sulfide). In nature, zinc oxide is the main component of the mineral zincite. Artificially, zinc oxide is produced through two methods: oxidation of pure zinc or roasting zinc ore.
Zinc oxide is used as an additive in a variety of materials and products, including plastics, ceramics, glass, cement, lubricants, paints, ointments, adhesives, fillers, pigments, food (zinc supplement), batteries, ferrite materials, flame retardant materials, and first-aid bandages. Zinc oxide is a wide band gap semiconductor material with a band gap of approximately 3.3 eV at room temperature and an exciton binding energy as high as 60 meV. It is expected to replace GaN as a material for ultraviolet light LDs and LEDs and has important applications in the field of optoelectronics.
II. Characteristics of Zinc Oxide Calcination Rotary Kiln Burners
The rotary kiln burner is a core component of the rotary kiln equipment. The length of the burner, heating characteristics combined with the zinc oxide calcination heating process, safety, and energy efficiency must all be considered.
Rotary kiln burners are classified according to the fuel used: gas burners and oil burners. Gas types include: natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, blast furnace gas, coke oven gas, light hydrocarbon gas, etc.; oil types include: diesel, methanol, heavy oil, alcohol-based fuels, etc. The design concepts, configurations, and effects of gas burners and oil burners are different, and confirmation with the manufacturer is required beforehand.
Multi-channel zinc oxide rotary kiln burners have a flame length of 6-15 meters, while single-channel rotary kiln burners have a flame length of 3-5 meters. The flame length can be adjusted online.
Based on the actual on-site conditions, select a hanging type or ground rail type mobile trolley for flexible adjustment of the burner's insertion length into the kiln, facilitating maintenance.
