I. What are the components of coke oven gas?
Coke oven gas (COG) is a high-calorie gas, also known as crude gas or raw gas. It is a combustible gas produced during the high-temperature dry distillation of a blend of several bituminous coals in coke ovens, alongside coke and tar. It is a byproduct of the coking industry. Generally, 300-350 m³ (standard state) of coke oven gas can be produced per ton of dry coal.
Coke oven gas composition: Hydrogen (55%-60%) and methane (23%-27%), along with small amounts of carbon monoxide (5%-8%), C2 and unsaturated hydrocarbons (2%-4%), carbon dioxide (1.5%-3%), oxygen (0.3%-0.8%), and nitrogen (3%-7%). Hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, C2, and unsaturated hydrocarbons are combustible components, while carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and oxygen are non-combustible components.
II. Characteristics and applications of coke oven gas burners:
1. Coke oven gas burner structure: It adopts a stable flame plate structure, with accurate air-fuel mixing ratio, ensuring complete combustion and achieving energy saving.
2. Coke oven gas burner control cabinet: It realizes automatic ignition, flameout alarm, and safety shutoff functions. The gas pipeline can use pneumatic control valves to improve safety protection level. Temperature can be automatically controlled, both locally and remotely.
3. Applications: Coke oven gas burners are widely used in forging heating furnaces, rolling heating furnaces, aluminum melting furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, rotary kilns, dryers, baking ovens, and ancient building brick kilns, etc.
